Cultivating Alaska's Next Generation of Environmental Leaders

AWEN is calling for applications for the 2010 mentee class!  The Mentorship Program matches women in environmental leadership roles (mentors) with women in earlier stages of environmental careers or community action (mentees).  The deadline for applications is JANUARY 8, 2010.  For more information, click here.

Mission

The mission of the Alaska Women’s Environmental Network is to cultivate women as environmental leaders through a statewide network dedicated to conserving nature with outreach, education and advocacy and public service.

Our vision is to be an organization of women leaders, heading the charge for environmental issues in Alaska.

Background

AWEN was established in 1994 and its purpose was to support women in developing their leadership abilities in the conservation field. Today a new generation of women has united to revitalize the Network and to continue the work of the founding members. To learn more. . .
